City Council approves resolution 6-1 despite vocal opposition

Public Hearing: City Council considering the adoption of Resolution 22-43C which addresses (1) Building Replacement Capital Project Budget Appropriations for certain city facilities (Sandy Public Works, Fire Station 31, and Alta Canyon Sports Center), (2) direction regarding the pursuit of sponsorships and naming rights for the Alta Canyon Sports Center (ACSC), and (3) an intention to pledge future funds towards the rebuild/remodel of ACSC.

Voting for the resolution: Ryan Mecham, District 1 Alison Stroud, District 2 Zach Robinson, District 3 Scott Earl, District 4 Brooke D’Sousa, At-large Marci Houseman, At-large Voting against the Cyndi Sharkey, At-largeMar

This resolution passed on September 20th with the amended language from Ryan Mecham to say “up to $20 million” instead of “at least $20 million”.
