The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee opens this week at The Theater at Mount Jordan

Six spellers enter, 1 speller leaves! A riotous ride, complete with audience participation, this is a delightful den of comedic genius. Note: This show is recommended for ages 12 and up due to innuendo and some language.

The cast includes Mitch, the ex-con who's doing community service by comforting eliminated spellers during the bee.

The Sandy Arts Guild is producing another fun fall play, The 25th Annual Putman County Spelling Bee. This community play will showcase some wonderful local talent.

The story chronicles an eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming “ding” of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves! At least the losers get a juice box.a file
